Where and when do I meet you?

Most trips launch from Palm Harbor Marina, click below to get directions.  Departure time varies depending on the season and conditions.  However, cast-off is typically around 6:00AM.

Are professional guided trips just for expert fisherman?

Absolutely not, Captain Wes welcomes fishermen of all ages and skill levels.  If you never tried saltwater fishing, let Captain Wes introduce to the exciting sport of fishing and get you started on the right track.  Having started fishing around the age of 5, Captain Wes understands what fun fishing can be for kids.  Captain Wes welcomes children on his trips.  For the seasoned professional, let Captain Wes put you onto a great day of fishing.

Is good fishing limited to a particular season?

No, good fishing can be had all year-round in the Rockport area.

What is the climate like in Rockport?

Because of its proximity to the Gulf, Rockport enjoys a very mild climate.  Summertime temperatures typically range from the mid-70's to the low-90's, with frequent sea breeze.  Wintertime temperatures typically range from the low-50's to the mid-60's.

What species of fish do customers typically catch?

Of course, being saltwater there is the opportunity to catch a wide variety of different fish. However, the primary game fishes in the area are Speckled Sea Trout, Redfish, Drum and Flounder. Visit http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/landwater/water/aquaticspecies/marine.phtml for more information.

What kind of bait does Captain Wes use?

Depending on the customer's desires, season, and bait availability, Captain Wes typically uses: Live Shrimp, Croakers, Piggy Perch, Shad and Mullet.  If the customer wishes, Artificials (Soft Plastics, Topwater, and Spoons) may be used.  Also, Fly-Fishing is available, however the customer must provide their own equipment. 

What kind of equipment does Captain Wes use?

The PadyWagon is a 21' Commander II with a 200HP XS Mercury outboard motor.

Captain Wes prefers Shimano rods and reels.

What kind of payment methods does Captain Wes accept?

Regrettably, at this time, Captain Wes does not accept Credit Cards.  However, Cash, Personal Checks and Money Orders are accepted.

What areas does Captain Wes fish?

Captain Wes fishes the following areas: Aransas Bay, Estes Flats, Copano Bay, Redfish Bay, Corpus Christ Bay, San Antonio Bay, Port Bay, Nueces Bay, Carlos Bay, and Mesquite Bay Areas.

Do I need a fishing license?

Yes, generally all customers over the age of 16 will need a permanent or temporary Texas fishing license with a Saltwater stamp.  Visit http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/publications/annual/fish/licenses/ for more information.

How many people can go a trip?

For a better fishing experience, Captain Wes limits his trips to 5 people at a time.

How do I book a trip?

Call Captain Wes at (361) 463-9145 or use the online booking function.

How do I cancel a trip?

Call Captain Wes at (361) 463-9145 at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled departure to reschedule or arrange a refund.
